Several local youth football players have been named All-Americans and were invited to participate in the eighth annual Offense-Defense Bowl Week festivities this year.
The bowl week is slated for Dec. 30-Jan. 5 at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla.
The selections are divided into age groups.
Raleigh residents Harry Stone McDonald and Steven Williams were selected for the 6-8-year-old group.
Jalen Butts, Bodie Fulk, Jacob Gill, LJ Lennon, Marques Roper, Brayden Purcell and Ryan Purcell were named to the 9-10 group.
The 11-12-year-old selections include BJ Adamchik, Asher Fulk, Michael Conner McCloud, David Sohn, Miller Williamson, Trexler Ivey and Cooper Marx.
Christopher Barlow, Corey Briscoe, Gage Woodlief and Max Woodlief were named 13-14 year-old All-Americans.
The players were selected for the honor from a group of athletes numbering in the thousands from across the country.
The Offense-Defense Youth All-American Bowl is part of a week-long series of events including an All-Star football game showcasing 88 of the top high school seniors in the country.
