Basketball camps

NetWorks Basketball camps will be held at schools around the county, including the Ledford Center at Southeastern Seminary, Raleigh Christian Academy, Trinity Academy of Raleigh, and more. The camps run through May.

Golf tournament

The Rotary Club of North Raleigh will hold its fifth annual Jack Andrews Memorial Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Wildwood Green Golf Club, 3000 Ballybunion Way, Raleigh. Registration is $87.50 for individuals; foursomes are $350.

Freedom Run 5k

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 187 of Wake Forest will present the 2014 5k Freedom Run at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 21, beginning and ending at 225 East Holding Ave., Wake Forest.

Proceeds will support Military Missions in Action and the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund.

Football camp

Former N.C. State stars Torry and Terrence Holt will host the Holt Brothers Football Camp Saturday, June 28 at the Dail Outdoor Practice Facility at N.C. State University. The first session will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for first through eighth graders. The second session will run from 2 to 6 p.m. for high school aged students.

Torry and Terrence Holt, along with area high school coaches and current and former NFL stars will serve as instructors at the camp.

Pickleball open play

Play pickleball from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday at Flaherty Park Community Center, 1226 N. White St., Wake Forest. Pickleball is played on a badminton court with a lowered net, a perforated plastic baseball and wood paddles. It is easy to learn but can develop into a competitive game for experienced players.
