Rolesville fall sports registration

Registration for Rolesville’s fall athletics programs has begun. Registration for baseball and softball will be open to Rolesville residents May 28-June 8; open registration runs June 11-21. Registration for soccer is June 25-July 6 for residents; open registration continues July 9-19. The programs start the first week of August and run through the end of October. Lake Wheeler Kids Fishing Derby

The annual Lake Wheeler Kids Fishing Derby is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 2, by the Simpkins Pond area at Lake Wheeler, 6404 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh. Children ages 6-12 may participate, and parents may assist. The children will be divided into two age groups. Registration is free and begins at 8 a.m. at the event.

Smile Train Triathlon

The fifth annual Smile Train Triathlon is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at Heritage Wake Forest, Swim Club, 804 Heritage Lake Road, Wake Forest. The race includes a 250-meter pool swim, a 12-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run. Smile Train is the only triathlon in Wake Forest and the only one in the world to benefit Smile Train is a nonprofit organization that conducts cleft lip and palate repair in under-developed countries. Relay For Life

The overnight Northern Wake Relay For Life is scheduled for June 8-9 on the grounds of Richland Creek Community Church, 3229 Burlington Mills Road, Wake Forest.
