Ravenscroft defends TISAC girls’ swim title

Ravenscroft’s girls’ swim team defended its conference title and hopes to contend for a state title at the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 3A swimming championship Monday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Ravenscroft finished third at last year’s state meet.

The host Ravens finished with 168 points at the Feb. 7 Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference championship meet, ahead of North Raleigh Christian (106 points), Cary Academy (98), Saint Mary’s (57) and Durham Academy (53).

Ravenscroft junior Claire Fuscoe was named TISAC Most Outstanding Swimmer.

On the boys’ side, Cary Academy also defended its conference title, finishing first with 155 points.

North Raleigh Christian placed second with 122 points, followed by Durham Academy (112) and Ravenscroft (69).

The Cary Academy boys finished fourth in last year’s state meet. Both the North Raleigh Christian boys and girls teams placed eighth.
