Boys’ tennis:

Millbrook at Broughton

Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

The two teams entered the week in a three-way tie with Wakefield for the league’s top spot. Broughton was ranked as the top 4A team in the state last week by the N.C. High School Tennis Coaches Association. Millbrook was ranked sixth.

History: Millbrook won the previous meeting, 5-4, at home. The teams split singles matchups, but the Wildcats edged Broughton in doubles play in the March 11 match.

Girls’ soccer:

Millbrook vs. Green Hope

Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Green Hope, ranked as the No. 1 girls’ soccer team in the country by Elitesoccerreport.com, will travel to fellow Triangle power Millbrook on Thursday. Millbrook is ranked No. 14 nationally.

History: Green Hope knocked Millbrook out of the NCHSAA 4A playoffs last year, winning 5-1 in a third-round matchup. The Falcons went on to lose in the state finals.

Girls’ lacrosse:

Wakefield vs. Cardinal Gibbons

Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Wakefield entered the week undefeated headed into a key Conference 3 matchup hosting the Crusaders. Cardinal Gibbons’ only loss this year came to defending state champion Green Hope.

History: Wakefield’s only two regular-season losses came at the hands of Cardinal Gibbons last year.
