Trash and recycling collection
Trash, recycling and yard waste scheduled for collection in Raleigh on Thanksgiving Day will be picked up Saturday, Nov. 26. Raleigh’s Yard Waste Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will operate on a regular schedule the rest of the week.
GoRaleigh and GoTriangle buses will not be in service on Thanksgiving Day. Regular GoRaleigh service will resume Friday, Nov. 25. GoTriangle will operate on a Saturday schedule Friday, Nov. 25. For information, call 919-485-7433.
Cooking oil and grease collection
The city of Raleigh will collect unwanted grease and cooking oil through Jan. 15. Residents and places of worship can dispose of used cooking oil by placing it at the curb. The waste will be converted to biofuels. To arrange for pickup and for more information about the program, call Solid Waste Services at 919-996-3245.
Donations of frozen turkeys that were dropped off at the Wake Forest Police Department will be distributed from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at the Wake Forest Community House, 133 W. Owen Ave. For information, contact Officer M.W. Sattler at 919-795-7270.
