Community of the Year

For the second year in a row, Flowers Plantation near Clayton has been named Community of the Year by the N.C. Home Builders Association.

In 2013, Flowers Plantation also won Best Landscape Design and Best Custom Home up to 2,500 Square Feet.

Notary public – 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Benson Conference Center, 303 E. Church St., Benson; 6-9 p.m. Nov. 17-18 at the Cleveland Center, 9046 Cleveland Road; and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Workforce Development Center. The fee is $70, and the required textbook is available in the JCC bookstore on the Smithfield campus, 245 College Road.

Excel Level I – 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Johnston County Workforce Development Center, 135 Bestwood Drive, Clayton. In this introduction to spreadsheets, businesspeople will learn how to create and modify a basic workbook. The fee is $71.
