Chick-fil-A closing for remodeling

Chick-fil-A in Smithfield will close Oct. 5 for remodeling. The restaurant expects to reopen Nov. 3.

Chamber retreat

The Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual planning retreat from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Sysco Food Services, 1032 Baugh Road, Selma.
