The kindergarten team at Meadow School celebrated International Literacy Day by “Lifting Off to Literacy” on Sept. 8.
Kindergartners talked about the importance of reading and motivated their classmates by chanting “Read, Read, Read.” Principal Leah White read “Betty Bunny Loves Chocolate Cake” by Michael Kaplan and Stephane Jorisch.
The students created a circle in the gym parking lot and let off balloons as they yelled “We love to read.”
Tags on the balloons held a message about Literacy Day and asked those who find the balloons to let the school know, via mail or email, a little about themselves and why they love reading.
