Students in Mauricio Forero’s second grade dual-language class at Selma Elementary School enjoy reading with their teacher, especially when he enlists the help of his friends, puppets Mister Chino and Kitty Cat.

Recently, the students read “The Bailey School Kids: Werewolves Don’t Go to Summer Camp” by Debbie Dadey in Spanish. Soon after, Mister Chino and Kitty Cat helped bring the characters to life, making for an engaging and often times funny story time.

After the puppet presentation on Oct. 7, students noted that their teacher is quite funny and that they enjoyed reading along with the puppets.

The students said they were looking forward to seeing what book Mister Chino and Kitty Cat would choose to help them read next.
