Fall events

White Oak Baptist Church will hold its annual bazaar Friday, Nov. 21, at the Archer Lodge Community Center, 14009 Buffalo Road. The event will start at 6 p.m. soups, sandwiches, hot dogs and desserts will be for sale until 7:30 p.m. Crafts and baked goods will be for sale from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and a silent auction will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The church will award door prizes throughout the evening. A Harvest Day Sale will take place Saturday, Nov. 22, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, 2900 Ebenezer Church Road between Benson and Coats. Plates of barbecued chicken and pork will be on sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 per plate, with takeout available. Crafts and baked goods will be for sale throughout the day, and the church will raffle a quilt.

Turkey shoots are scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m. Nov. 15 and 22 at Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 4269 Cleveland Road, Smithfield. The cost is $4 per shot, or six shots for $20, for a chance to win a turkey. The women of the church will sell chili, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, baked goods, coffee, hot chocolate and cold drinks.

A live auction is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at First Christian Church, 1001 S. Crescent Drive, Smithfield. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for hot dogs, popcorn, snacks and drinks.

A holiday bazaar is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Oakland Presbyterian Church, 8927 Cleveland Road in the Cleveland community. More than 40 vendors will offer crafts and food. Child care will be available. Some vendor spots remain; for more information, call 919-934-5476.

A shopping spree to benefit Discovery Church Preschool is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at 195 N.C. 42 East, Clayton. Vendors will offer crafts, jewelry, tote bags and holiday gifts. Vendor spaces remain; for more information, email or call 919-632-6082.

Country breakfast

A country breakfast is scheduled from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 5312 Meadowbrook Road in the Meadow community. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger.

Yard sale

A yard sale is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Believers Baptist Church, 100 Southerland Road, Clayton.

Programs, services

Revival services are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14, 7 p.m. Nov. 15 and 11 a.m. Nov. 16 at Lee’s Chapel Advent Christian Church, 4154 N.C. 96 South, Four Oaks. The Rev. Joe Pritchett will speak. Seminars will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday.

A 50 State Rally is scheduled for 3 p.m.. Sunday, Nov. 16, at St. Mark AME Church, 409 Bridge St., Smithfield.

Bishop R.B. Mott, pastor of Small Chapel Church near Newton Grove, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12-14 at Love Joy Church, 129 Main St., Red Springs.

A gospel music program is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Warren’s Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church, 5270 U.S. 301 North, Micro. A number of groups will perform. The church will honor its pastor, James E. Perry, at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16. Evangelist Hattie Lofton of Smithfield will speak.

A Thanksgiving Communion service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Smithfield Advent Christian Church at the corner of N.C. 210 and Galilee Road west of Smithfield.

Sanders Grove Baptist Church will hold its women’s retreat at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Golden Corral on East Market Street near Interstate 95 in Smithfield. A Women’s Day program is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the church on N.C. 210 west of Smithfield.

Support groups

“Surviving the Holidays,” a support seminar, is scheduled from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3414 N. Shiloh Road, Garner. The seminar is for those grieving the loss of a loved one or going through divorce during the holidays. The seminar is free, and child care is available on request. LOGOS, a faith-based program of education and fun for children and youth, has launched at Providence Presbyterian Church, 14664 N.C. 210 near McGee’s Crossroads. Edgerton Memorial United Methodist Church in Selma offers Mother’s Morning Out, a free child-care program.
