BB&T in Smithfield has pledged $10,000 to the Partnership to Build a Miracle. BB&T has been supporting the Miracle League since its first season.

The Partnership to Build a Miracle is a collaborative effort between the Johnston County Partnership for Children and the Miracle League of Johnston County to build an inclusion park and ball field in Smithfield for children of all abilities. The park will give children with special needs an accessible play space.

Chris Key is campaign chairman for the Partnership to Build a Miracle. “We are very excited to have BB&T be a part of this campaign,” he said. “As we draw closer to construction, community leaders like (BB&T’s) Ernie (Ward) and Zack (Thornton) are the kind of people who will make the difference.”

The Town of Smithfield will have to start the bidding process to begin construction once again. Bids came in higher than expected during the last cycle, so the Partnership to Build a Miracle is in the process of raising an additional $49,000 to begin the project.
