Music for lunch
This summer’s Music for the Lunch Bunch series continues at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at First Presbyterian Church, 215 S. Third St., Smithfield. Flutist Tori Howell will perform.
Howell, 22, graduated from Clayton High and is currently studying music education at Campbell University, where she is a member of the band staff. She is a North Carolina Teaching Fellow.

Grants for nonprofits
Through Aug. 15, the Johnston County Arts Council is accepting applications for grass-roots grants from the N.C. Arts Council.
Applications are available to local nonprofits promoting arts programming in Johnston County. Interested parties may attend a grant workshop at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Johnston County Arts Council office, 312 S. Third St., Smithfield.

Auditions for the Neuse Little Theatre production of “Sex Please, We’re Sixty!” will be at 7 p.m. Monday, July 29, and 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Hut at the corner of Front and Market streets in Smithfield.
