Mrs. Edith Adams Moore, 78, of Dunn, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Wake Medical Center. She was born in Johnston County on August 31, 1935 to the late George Cleo and Eva Everitte Adams. She was also preceded in death by son William Scott Moore.
Mrs. Moore was a 1953 graduate of Meadow High School, Hardbarger Jr. College of Business, and a 1978 graduate of Sampson Community College Nursing Program.
Mrs. Moore was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church in Benson, NC and the North Carolina Nurses Association. She was a former supervisor of Cardiac Care at Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital and a retired nurse from Hospice of Harnett County.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church in Benson, NC by Rev. Glenn Fell. Burial will follow at Devotional Gardens in Dunn, NC.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Thomas William Moore of Dunn; daughters, Kimberly Adams Honeycutt and husband Tony Wyatt of Godwin and Tonya Moore Sills and husband Jeffrey Dwayne of Dunn; granddaughter, Morgan Yvette Sills of Dunn; brothers, George Harold Adams and Johnnie Allen Adams of Four Oaks; sisters, Edna Adams Phipps of Four Oaks, Wanda Adams Boyette of Clinton, Brenda Dell Adams of Newton Grove, Carolyn Williams and husband James Edward of Four Oaks and Sylvia Diane Adams Massengill and husband George of Four Oaks and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn, NC.
