Athia White Parrish, 91, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Brian Center.
Athia was born in Johnston County on June 21, 1923 to the late Charles S. White and Mary Alma Creech White. She was married to the late Ernest D. Parrish. Athia retired from Borden Manufacturing Company and was a former member of Clingman Street Church of God.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield with Rev. Joseph Leonard officiating.
Athia is survived by her daughter, Sue Lupton of Goldsboro; son, George S. Parrish of Goldsboro; sister, Louise Ham of Goldsboro; half-sister, Grace Eason Muserella of New Jersey; three grandchildren, Kenneth “Ken” Lupton, Dena G. Parrish and Sonya L. Jennette; and four great-grandchildren, Connor, Mackenzie, Jayson and Joshua.

In addition to her husband and parents, Athia was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Lupton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
