Mary Ellen Tyner McLamb, age 87, passed away Wednesday, February 5, at Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield. Born September 23, 1926 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Lou Edwards Tyner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James McLamb. Mary Ellen was a long time member of Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where she sang with the choir. She was also a member of the Brogden Firemen Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Tee’s Chapel FWB Church with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Surviving are her sons, Ronnie McLamb (Barbara), and Danny McLamb (Libby); daughter, Melba Woodall (Durwood), all of Smithfield; sisters, Myrtle Hodge, Laverne Morgan, Evelyn Norris, Nelda Creech, and Linda Robbins; grandchildren, Shane Woodall (Patty), Corey McLamb (Meredith), Jamie Woodall (Melissa), Justin McLamb (Tara), and Jared McLamb (Brittany); great grandchildren, Waylon Woodall, Lane Woodall, Lyla Grace McLamb, Britt McLamb, Zane McLamb, and Kinslee McLamb.
