Mrs. Levinson died peacefully at her home on Easter Sunday April 20th, 2014. “Red” was born July 2, 1922 in Smithfield, W. Va., and was the daughter of Attorney Earl McIntire and Bertha McIntire. Red’s sister and 4 brothers and loving husband, Joseph H. Levinson preceded her in death. Red’s son Jim and grandson Lee carry on the law practice founded by father-in-law Louis L. They were a solid part of the Benson community and also instrumental to the development and community efforts of Carolina Beach where they spent many weekends with family and friends. Both were members of Benson Baptist Church. They also supported Duke University for over 60 years. Mrs. Levinson is survived by her son, Attorney James R. Levinson (Ginger) of Clayton; a daughter, Ann L. Munday (Brad) of Kiawah
Island, SC and a daughter, Nancy L. Eason (Frank) of Salisbury NC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Attorney Joseph Lee Levinson, Jennifer Ann Munday, Julie Eason Oates (Grant), and Lydia L. Handsfield (Geoff). Surviving are great-grandchildren Lila McIntire Oates and William Grant Oates, Jr. Mrs. Levinson is also survived by brother-in-law, Charles Levinson and wife Louise of Raleigh and by many loving nieces and nephews.
