Brian Colburn Langley, 75, died on Thursday, July 14, 2016 after an extended illness. Born on December 23, 1940 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Earl Roger and Mildred Nancy Whitley Langley. Brian graduated from Smithfield High School and attended NC State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He was a General Contractor by profession. Active in his community and his church, he served on the Johnston County Zoning Board, First Baptist Church Board of Deacons, First Baptist Church Sunday School teacher, and the First Baptist Church Building Committee. He was an avid golfer, and served as Past President of the Johnston County Country Club. He loved many sports, and excelled in bowling, and in his earlier years, basketball.Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 18, 2016 at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
