Friday’s Games

Clayton at East Wake, 7

The Comets could jumble up the conference race with a victory and jump into the mix for a top three finish in the Greater Neuse River 4A Conference.

Knightdale at Garner, 7

While most are already giving the Greater Neuse River 4A Conference title to Garner, the Trojans meet Knightdale with memories of losing a conference championship battle a year ago against the Knights fresh in their minds. Don’t expect the Trojans to take this one lightly.

Southeast Raleigh at West Johnston, 7

The two teams both eyeing solid finishes in the conference race square off, knowing the route to the playoffs is much easier if they can come up with a win on Friday night.

Corinth Holders at Cleveland, 7:30

The Pirates visit Cleveland knowing a win is a must if they want to create a race for the Two Rivers 3A Conference championship. The Rams have other plans: mainly to keep scoring in bunches and playing better defense no matter who the opponent.

Triton at Smithfield-Selma, 7:30

Alert: Smithfield-Selma is in the playoff race. That’s something not many observers had when the season began. The next step for the improving Spartans is to beat teams below you in the standings and that’s the chance they get this week.

Princeton at North Duplin, 7:30

Princeton looks to keep rolling through the second half of its Carolina 1A Conference schedule with a trip to meet North Duplin, which has yet to win a league game this season.

South Johnston at Western Harnett, 7:30

South has become the team to watch in the Two Rivers 3A Conference and Western Harnett just might be the team nobody wants to play in the second half of the season. Do the Trojans keep rolling or do the Eagles get a breakthrough conference win?

North Pitt at North Johnston, 7:30

The Norths of the Eastern Plains 2A Conference meet in Kenly. North Pitt is coming off of somewhat of a surprise win over Wilson Beddingfield. North Johnston is the only winless team in the league.

North Raleigh Christian at Wake Christian, 7:30

Wake Christian wraps up its home regular-season slate with a visit from NRCA, which has just one win in seven outings.
