Burnell Baptist Church golf event

Burnell Baptist Church will host a benefit four-person superball golf tournament at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at Reedy Creek Golf Course to support church activities. The fee is $60 per person or $240 per team. The event features a catered meal from Outback Steakhouse and a $500 cash prize for a par-3 closest to the pin as well as standard team finish prizes. Deer processing seminars offered

Deer Processing From Field to Freezer seminars from the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will be held in September at the Centennial Campus Center for Wildlife Education in Raleigh. The free one-day seminars are from 6:30-9 p.m. on Sept. 10, Sept. 12 and Sept. 17. Space is limited. Instructors Guy Gardner and Howard Walters III, both from the Cape Fear River Branch of Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA), will provide information on field dressing, processing techniques and taxidermy. Johnston Horse Show Series dates named

Johnston County Horse Show Series events will be held Sept. 21, Oct. 26 and Nov. 23 at the Johnston County Livestock Arena near Smithfield. Rings open at 8:30 for all events.
