Parents: Dwayne Sutton and Cynthia Bullock

High School: Corinth Holders

Travel Team: N.C. Challengers

Why Norfolk State? “When I went on my official visit I felt like I was already at home. They’ve been recruiting me for two years so I know I’m wanted there.”

Also Considered: Winston-Salem State, Chowan

Major: Kinesiology

Notable: Brandy has played shortstop for Corinth Holders but projects as an outfielder at the college level. “I don’t care what position I’m at as long as I’m playing,” she said. Brandy has been a three-year member of the Pirates’ indoor track and field team and will become a four-year member of the varsity softball team this spring. She wants to improve her swing as she prepares for college softball. Post-college Brandy wants to either go into the physical therapy or become an athletic trainer. Signing to play in college on the same day as longtime teammates Kristina Neal and Kayla Meares, two players she’s played with dating back to their Archer Lodge days, is a memory she will always cherish.

Corinth Holders softball coach Jessica Potter: “Brandy can provide great depth because she’s a utility player who can play the outfield or the infield. Her batting ability and speed will be a great asset at the college level.”
