Why Randolph-Macon? “I had a very good visit, hung out with some of the guys on the team and really liked the camaraderie they had as a team. The campus is really nice. It was just the place I wanted to be.”
Notable: Gregory was a two-time all-conference selection in the Eastern Plains 2A Conference, one of the deepest 2A conferences in the state and a conference that limits the size of its post-season award designations. He was also a preseason 2A all-state selection as a senior. … He projects to play offensive line at RMC after playing on both lines for the Panthers. … Gregory feels like his strength is one of his strong suits. And rightly so, he can squat 575 pounds and benches 330. He wants to work on his footwork. … Although the Panthers only posted one win in his senior year, Gregory was proud to be part of laying a new foundation at North. “It was very satisfying to work with the new coaches and see the improvement we made, even though it didn’t show up in wins,” he said. … Gregory plans to go into the physical therapy field.
North Johnston football coach Ashley Ennis: “Gregory was a true warrior for us. He anchored our defensive line, played pulling guard on offense, was in great shape physically, strong as an ox. … He made a good decision. He’s going to see the field quickly there I believe.”
