Philanthropy

Sensus, a technology company based in Raleigh, raised more than $34,000 for Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina, based in Morrisville, with its Charity Golf Classic.

The Fresh Market will host Cupcakes for a Cause through Sunday, Sept. 28. Customers can donate to No Kid Hungry by buying paper cupcakes. From 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, and Sunday, Sept. 28, customers can decorate their own cupcake for a $3 donation. The Fresh Market has a Cary location at 3655 SW Cary Parkway.

Sweet Cheeks Bakery will collect donations of canned goods for the Western Wake Crisis Ministry throughout September at 803 E. Williams St., Apex. Donors will receive a free cupcake.
