Raleigh police file child-sex charges against Angier man

Police arrested a man from Angier on Monday, charging him with first-degree sexual offense and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a girl under 13 three years ago.

Raleigh officers went to a flooring company in Fuquay-Varina where Mariano Navarro, 37, works, according to arrest records.

Police had listed a Holly Springs address for Navarro, but he told booking officers he now lives at 75 Viola Lane in Angier.

Police said in an arrest warrant that the incidents happened sometime in 2011, listing the entire year as the date of the offense.

Extensive offense periods are commonly seen in cases involving sexual offenses with children.
