Green Hope High School student charged with selling spiked brownies

A 16-year-old Green Hope High School student faces a felony charge after Cary police found him selling what they said were marijuana-laced brownies in the school.

Dalton Anderson Woodard of 108 Vescova Lane in Morrisville was arrested about noon Friday after a school resource officer assigned to Green Hope got a tip that a student was selling the brownies.

When police located Woodard in the school at 2500 Carpenter Upchurch Road, they said, he had three 2-inch by 2.5-inch brownies.

Capt. Don Hamilton said Monday that officers could smell marijuana when they opened the bag, and a chemical test confirmed the drug’s presence.

“The young man was helpful to us and admitted (what he had),” Hamilton said.

Woodard was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell or distribute it.

His bail was set at $10,000.
