Police are asking for the public’s help in investigating the death of a man shot at his western Cary home Friday morning.

Aleksander “Lenny” Wysocki, 74, died at Duke University Medical Center after sustaining a gunshot wound at his home at 215 Trent Woods Way in the Park Village subdivision.

Cary police found Wysocki in his side yard after responding to a 911 call at 8:45 a.m.

Police don’t think the shooting was random, but Capt. Don Hamilton says they’re not ready to identify a suspect.

“There are things we’re looking into,” Hamilton said.

Cary police ask anyone with information to contact them at 919-469-4012 or file a report with Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-460-4636. Crime Stoppoers pays up to $2,500 to tipsters whose information leads to an arrest or indictment of those responsible for committing certain types of crimes.

Police were canvassing the snow-covered neighborhood most of Friday morning. Officers taped off the street so passers-by could not see a full view of the house, which is located less than a mile southwest of Davis Drive elementary and middle schools.

This is the Cary Police Department’s second homicide investigation this year.

Earlier this month, police arrested Kevin Leroy Bodden, 54, and charged him with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his brother, Mark Gregory Bodden, 44, in their apartment at 2101 Talking Rock Drive.
