Raleigh police find man wanted for Apex restaurant robbery

A man wanted by Apex police for an armed robbery at a restaurant was arrested Wednesday afternoon after Raleigh police said he used an old receipt to try to get a refund at a Target store.

Jason Luis Arocho, 31, of 514 Averette Road, a Rolesville address in unincorporated Wake County, was arrested at the store at 7900 Old Wake Forest Road about 3:30 p.m.

Raleigh police said they charged Arocho with obtaining property by false pretenses because he had used an old Target receipt to return clothing and candy he had not bought. Target officials called police.

Monday, Apex police had distributed Arocho’s photo and asked for the public’s help to find him.

They had obtained warrants accusing him of robbery, conspiracy and kidnapping in connection with the Jan. 29 holdup at Qdoba Mexican Grill in the Beaver Creek Shopping Center.

Arocho was one of three men charged in that case, and Apex police had arrested the other two.

Arocho was being held on $206,000 bail Thursday and was scheduled for a first court appearance on the Apex and Raleigh charges.
