SAS Championship

Applebee’s Kids Helping Kids Triathlon

The Applebee’s Kids Helping Kids Triathlon to raise money for the V Foundation for Cancer Research will be at 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Triangle Aquatic Center, 275 Convention Drive, Cary. Registration is open to ages 7-12 for $30 in advance or $40 the day of the race at kidshelpingkidstri.racesonline.com. One-day USA Triathlon membership costs $10.

Cary Area Emergency Medical Services will offer a free flu vaccine clinic for ages 4 and older from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until the vaccine is no longer available on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 107 Medcon Court.

Run Dig Rodeo

Hope Chapel of Apex’s annual Run Dig Rodeo races in Halloween costumes will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Fred G. Bond Metro Park, 801 High House Road, Cary. There will be food trucks. Proceeds from race registration and shirt sales will support the event and Hope Chapel’s community programs.

Registration for the one-mile fun run costs $10. Fun-run registration for a competitive runner and family of four is free for the competitive runner, $20 for four recreational runners and $5 for each additional runner. Registration for a dog costs $5.
