Apex Newcomers & Friends Club

Cary Mayor’s Task Force on Disability

The Cary Mayor’s Task Force on Disability meets from noon to 1 p.m. every second Wednesday at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop. Cary or Apex residents interested in creating awareness, improving accessibility and advocating for people with disabilities are welcome, regardless of age or ability. Cary Woman’s Club

Breakfast fundraiser

American Legion Post 530 will host its annual fundraising breakfast Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8-10 a.m. at O’Charley’s, 101 Asheville Ave., Cary. Scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and a drink cost $7.

Sisters of Hope

Sisters of Hope, a breast cancer support group for women in all stages of recovery, meets for a Dutch Treat Dinner at 6:30 p.m. the second Monday of each month in the private dining room at Golden Corral, 1420 E. Broad St., Fuquay-Varina.

An Evening at The Cary Theater

Cary Central Rotary Club will host An Evening at The Cary Theater to raise money for Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 122 E. Chatham St. A cash bar will open at 6 p.m. for snacks, beverages and socializing. Mark Hensley will give a presentation, “The Challenges of Alzheimer’s and Caregiving.” Admission is free, and donations for Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust will be accepted.

Memory Café

The five Rotary clubs of Cary will host a Memory Café for people with Alzheimer’s, people with dementia and caregivers from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Cary Senior Center, 120 Maury Odell Place. There will be dinner, music and dancing. The clubs plan to hold additional Memory Café events on Tuesday, Nov. 18, and Wednesday, Dec. 17.
