Tutoring program seeks volunteers

The Kirk Outreach After-School Learning Academy at Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church needs volunteers to help first- and second-grade students from Briarcliff Elementary School with their homework one day or more per week. Health Fair and Breast Cancer Awareness Festival

TrueWay Apostolic Ministries’ Health Fair and Breast Cancer Awareness Festival will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at 323 Lynch St., Apex. There will be blood pressure screenings, information booths, vendors and kids’ activities.

Harvest Festival

Good Shepherd United Church of Christ will host a Harvest Festival dinner with silent and live auctions at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at 1050 NW Maynard Road, Cary. Doors open at 5 p.m. for a craft sale, children’s activities and a silent auction.
