Family History Conference

A free Family History Conference for ages 12 and older will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 590 Bryan Drive, Apex. There will be 18 genealogy classes. Registration is required. For details and registration, go to www.apexfamilyhistoryconference.org.

National Reuse Day

Cary will collect donations for local charities during National Reuse Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Garmon Operations Center, 400 James Jackson Ave. Accepted donations include clothes, toys, small appliances, furniture, computers, art supplies and more. For details, go to www.townofcary.org.

Run Dig Rodeo

Hope Chapel of Apex’s annual Run Dig Rodeo races in Halloween costumes will be from 9-11 a.m. at Fred G. Bond Metro Park, 801 High House Road, Cary. There will be food trucks. Proceeds from race registration and shirt sales will support the event and Hope Chapel’s community programs.

Registration for the one-mile fun run costs $10. Fun-run registration for a competitive runner and family of four is free for the competitive runner, $20 for four recreational runners and $5 for each additional runner. Registration for a dog costs $5.

Parenting workshop

Pfeiffer Institute Reach will host a free parenting workshop on healthy relationships from 10 a.m. to noon at 600 Airport Blvd., Suite 600, Morrisville. There also will be a children’s workshop for ages 6-12. To register, email contact@PfeifferReach.org.

Barnes & Noble will host a Halloween story time for kids at 11 a.m. at 760 SE Maynard Road, Cary.

Cary’s Great Pumpkin Carve

Cary’s Great Pumpkin Carve will be from 2-8 p.m. on the Performance Green in downtown Cary, across from the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave. There will be a pumpkin patch, carving stations and awards. It is free to attend, and pumpkins cost $3.

Hope Connection International fundraiser

A fundraiser for Hope Connection International will begin at 6 p.m. at the Family Farm, 1719 Avent Ferry Road, Holly Springs. There will be live music, vendors, food, games and a bonfire. Evening for Education & Clean Water in Uganda

Partners of the Americas 50th anniversary

The North Carolina chapter of Partners of the Americas will celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary with live Bolivian music and dancers at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 117 S. Academy St., Cary. Admission is free and donations will be accepted. The public is invited.
