Holly Springs student earns Eagle Scout rank
Brad Rencher, a senior at Holly Springs High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 356, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting. For his Eagle Scout project, he built a prayer garden at Holly Springs United Methodist Church. Brad is the son of Bill and Fran Rencher of Holly Springs.
Local students serve as pages
Anjan Sapasetty of Cary recently served as a page in the N.C. Senate. Pages serve for one week, attending Senate sessions and committee meetings and assisting staff members with clerical duties. Anjan, the son of Ram Sapasetty and Meera Kanchi, was sponsored by Sen. Brent Jackson. Anjan was a student at Cary Academy.
Katelin Kukura of Holly Springs also served as a page. Katelin, the daughter of John and Kelli Kukura, attended Holly Springs High School and was sponsored by Rep. Paul Stam.
Cary student participates in Taekwando competition
Mike Biddle, 13, of Cary earned two gold medals and one bronze medal at the fifth annual U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang Competition this summer in Colarado Springs, Colo. The competition in traditional and creative forms of Taekwondo included more than 1,300 participants from all over the world. Mike, the son of Robert Biddle and Zhanna Brotsman, is a seventh-grade student at West Cary Middle School.
