Nature Program

Learn about rabbits from 2 to 3 p.m. at Crowder District Park, 4709 Ten-Ten Road, Apex. Test your knowledge in the hare vs. rabbit trivia game, practice jumping skills and make a fun craft. Cost is $5 per family. Registration is required. Call 919-662-2850.

Concert and Silent Auction

Bands from Athens Drive, Cary, Green Hope and Panther Creek high schools, along with the Triangle Youth Jazz Ensemble and special guest Swing Street Band will perform a jazz concert at 3:30 p.m. at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. Gates open at 3 p.m. Half of all proceeds will benefit the Children’s Organ Transplant Association in honor of Lucas Santos, a Cary High student who underwent a heart transplant in November. CARE Benefit

Chatham Animal Rescue and Education will hold its 10th annual bash and auction to benefit dogs and cats from 5 to 8 p.m. at Shady Wagon Farm, 2312 Pea Ridge Road, New Hill. Memorial Day Celebrations

Staff and volunteers from Hospice of Wake County will honor veterans at 10 a.m. at HeartFields, 1050 Crescent Green Drive, Cary; and at 3:30 p.m. at Jordan Oaks, 10820 Penny Road, Cary. During each 30-minute program, guests will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” and recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and veteran volunteers will lead a prayer, light candles, and recognize veterans in attendance.

Documentary and Discussion

Taiwanese-American Heritage Week

As part of Taiwanese-American Heritage Week, the Cultural Arts Performing Tour from the Taipei Physical Education College will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave., Cary. Frankie Yankovic Day

The 18th annual Frankie Yankovic Day to celebrate polka music will begin at 7 p.m. at the corner of Academy Street and Kildaire Farm Road. The Polka Plus Band will perform a free outdoor concert. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs.


Golf Benefit Event
