N.C. Symphony’s Summerfest Series continues June 22

The N.C. Symphony’s outdoor concerts, the Rex Healthcare Summerfest Series, begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary. Concert-goers can bring picnics, blankets and lawn chairs as early as 5 p.m.

Artist lecture

Artist Larry Soltzenberg will discuss stained glass at 4 p.m. Monday, June 24, at the Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex. To register, call 919-387-2100.

‘Seven O’ Clock Rock’ series

The intersection of Chatham and Academy Streets in downtown Cary will host “Seven O’Clock Rock,” a series of themed community block parties this spring, complete with dance lessons and live entertainment. The last show in the series will be Beach Night with the Magnificents Band on June 27. Dance lessons start at 7 p.m.; the concert begins at 7:30 p.m.

Art gallery opening event

The Village Art Circle will hold its opening event during the Cary Art Loop Final Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Ashworth Village, 200 S. Academy St., Cary. Starlight Concert Series

The town of Cary will kick off its 15th annual Starlight Concert Series at 7 p.m. Friday, June 28, in the garden at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop. Performers include:

• June 28: The Snyder Family Band



• July 12: Ricardo Diquez and the Tropic Orchestra



• July 26: Jamrock

Apex Jazz Festival

The Apex Downtown Business Association will hold its third annual Apex Jazz Festival on Saturday, Sept. 21, in downtown Apex. Performances will be featured in a variety of outdoor and indoor venues along Salem Street. There will be a beer garden in conjunction with an outdoor stage located on the Apex Chamber of Commerce property. Tickets are $10.
