Whisk will host a free Talking Mushrooms event from 2:30-4 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at 316 Colonades Way, Cary.

Orangetheory Fitness will open a new location in Holly Springs from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in Holly Springs Towne Center, 141 Grand Hill Place. It is owned by Holly Springs residents Tim and Mia Shannon.

Fairview Garden Center will host Flora and Food Trucks from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays, through May 23, at 8224 Holly Springs Road, Raleigh.


Hampton Inn RDU Airport’s grand opening with the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at 1010 Airport Blvd., Morrisville.

The Cary Chamber of Commerce Business of Women meeting is at noon Thursday, April 16, at Prestonwood Country Club, 300 Prestonwood Parkway. Registration is $15 for members and $20 for non-members at

The Cary Chamber of Commerce will meet for Business After Hours, hosted by Tijuana Flats Tex-Mex and Massage Envy Spa Cary Parkside, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at 7165 O’Kelly Chapel Road.

The Morrisville Chamber of Commerce Coffee & Connections meeting will be from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 23, at 260 Town Hall Drive, Suite A, Morrisville. The event is free for chamber members. Visitors may try two Coffee & Connections meetings for free; subsequent meetings cost $10.


Susan Hyde joined Railinc of Cary as product support specialist II. Mark Aldenderfer was promoted to lead business analyst, Kiersten Durst to product support specialist II and William Holt to product support specialist II.

Joe Sanderson of Fuquay-Varina was named director of marketing for the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He has been assistant director for domestic and international marketing development for the department since 1994. He replaces Tom Slade, who retired.


TrialCard Incorporated of Cary’s partnership with Excellere Partners of Denver was named the Deal of the Year by the Association for Corporate Growth, Raleigh Durham.

Weed Man of the Triangle was named Official Lawn Care Provider of the Durham Bulls.

Woodland Terrace of Cary earned the Silver Spoon Award in the 2015 Share to Care Chef Challenge in February.


Employees of Lenovo in Morrisville volunteered at Southeast Raleigh High School on April 13. Lenovo donated 44 computers to the school’s media center. Volunteers joined in school beautification projects, mock interview sessions and career readiness workshops with students.
