Overtime points

• Panther Creek’s girls soccer team stunned national No. 18 Millbrook 2-1 in the season opener on Wednesday. The Catamounts, who have quite a few Division I players of their own, got two goals from Justine Jones.

• Green Hope’s girls soccer team saw its 28-game winning streak from last season end in a 2-1 loss to Leesville Road on Wednesday. The Falcons’ winning streak is tied for second-longest in NCHSAA history, and the team had won 46 consecutive regular-season games.

• Cardinal Gibbons rallied to defeat Green Hope 6-3 in a non-conference boys tennis battle between area powers.
