Police think an impaired driver caused a multi-vehicle crash that killed a 53-year-old man and injured three other people Wednesday night in South Durham.
Darryl Brooks, 41, of Durham has been charged with driving while impaired and driving while his license was revoked, according to Durham police spokeswoman Kammie Michael.
Kelwin Biggs of Durham died after the car he was driving was hit from behind by Brooks’ vehicle on southbound Fayetteville Road near Cook Road, police say.
The force of the impact caused Biggs’ car to veer out of control and into the path of an oncoming car driven by Nyasia Clifton, 20, of Durham. The accident happened shortly after 8 p.m.
