Durham police are trying to locate a vehicle involved in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash on Saturday night. The accident occurred shortly before midnight when a man was struck while crossing Holloway Street at Hoover Road.
The suspect vehicle, which fled the scene headed west on Holloway Street toward downtown, is a mid to late 90s white or grey SUV registered to license plate NCPFT-7694. It is possibly a Ford Explorer or Mercury Mountaineer, and should have substantial front end damage. Accompanying this story is a picture of the type of vehicle believed to be involved, not the actual suspect vehicle.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and the condition of the victim was listed as critical but stable as of Sunday night.
