A man charged with killing two men in Durham in January 2012 was arrested in South Carolina on Tuesday, according to police.
Tyrone Thompson has been charged with murdering Paul Anthony Noel Jr. and Timothy Deangelo McGhee in a shooting at a house on Dawkins Street, just south of downtown.
Police say Noel and McGhee were among several people inside the house when someone fired numerous shots at it from the outside shortly after 9 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2012. Police found McGhee, 24, dead inside the house, while Noel, 22, died a short time later at Duke University Hospital.
Thompson, 38, was arrested early Tuesday in Goose Creek, S.C., by members of the Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He is awaiting extradition in the Berkeley County Detention Center in Berkeley, S.C., police said.

Durham police have not disclosed a motive for the shooting or indicated if McGhee and Noel were even the targets. The crime remained unsolved for more than a year, and it’s not clear what prompted Durham investigators to take out the murder charges against Thompson last month.
