DURHAM Durham police arrested two men on Saturday and charged them with robbing two people at gunpoint.
Darence Qufon Pearson, 25, of Durham and Raheem Norwood Bass, 22, of Hillsborough were both charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Bass was also arrested on a parole violation.
Pearson and Bass were placed in Durham County Jail, each under $1 million bond.
The two men were arrested following recent robberies in several apartment complexes near Leon, Broad, South LaSalle streets and Garrett, Chalk Level and Morreene roads.

Officers responded to the first robbery call after 10 p.m. Saturday at the 1200 block of Leon Street, where a man told officers he was in the parking lot of the apartment complex when he was robbed at gunpoint by two men.
A few minutes later, officers responded to a second robbery call at 311 South LaSalle Street, where a man told officers he had also been robbed by two men. Durham police arrested Pearson and Bass a few blocks away and found a loaded gun, phones and a wallet belonging to one of the robbery victims.
