Police on Wednesday morning initially asked the public to help them identify a girl found walking on Swift Creek Road, but later said they had been able to return her to her family.
The girl had left her family’s home without being noticed, Chief David Hess said.
A resident called police after finding the child near Witherspoon Lane about 5:40 a.m., Hess said. She got home about 7:15 a.m.
The girl was not hurt during her walk, and there was no reason to charge anyone in the incident, Hess said.
