Man dies in Johnston County motorcycle crash

An inexperienced motorcycle rider died Sunday afternoon when his machine crashed on Creech Johnson Road in Johnston County, southeast of Zebulon, the NC Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Derrick Lavalle Wiggins “had not been motorcycles very long.”

Neither speed nor alcohol were suspected in the crash, Trooper Daniel T. Sharpe said.

Troopers were called to the crash about 3:45 p.m.
