Police say the man found at the bottom of a Clayton creek last week was reported missing on May 7.
Detectives don’t suspect any foul play in the death of Michael Dean Johnson, who two teenagers and an adult found lying in a creek off Amelia Church Road on June 4.
Johnson, 47, of 9700 Cleveland Road in Clayton was known to frequent the Clayton Corners Shopping Center, near where he was found, said Clayton police spokeswoman Stacy Beard.
Johnson lived with his grandfather, who reported him missing to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office on May 7.
