Two to march in All-American Band

Two Clayton High School students have been invited to join the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, which will perform at halftime of the All-American Bowl, a football game for high school stars.

Isha Henry and Megan Whitfield are members of the Clayton High School marching band’s color guard.

A master’s in management

Tyler Stark of Clayton has graduated from Troy University. He earned his master’s degree in management from the Sorrell College of Business.

Scholarship winner

Samantha Lauren Johnson of Selma, a senior at North Johnston High School, has received a Presidential Scholarship to Barton College in Wilson. The renewable scholarship will cover $34,000 of tuition, divided into increments of $8,500 per year for four years.

Johnson is the daughter of Carol and Sammy Johnson Jr. She will enter Barton College in the fall 2016 semester and plans to major in nursing.
