A barbecue competition will take place March 11-12 at First Baptist Church, 411 N. Fayetteville St., Clayton. Twelve professional teams will compete. For $10, the public can sample barbecue from each team and then vote for a favorite. Twelve certified judges will also weigh in. Proceeds will go to summer missions. Good Samaritan United Church of Christ has moved from Selma to The Clayton Center, 111 E. Second St., Smithfield. Worship is at 9 a.m. Sundays, with fellowship following. Christian education is at 11 a.m. The church’s youth group meets two Sundays a month, and a special-needs youth group meets during the week. The church made the move in part because The Clayton Center is easily accessible to the handicapped.
