The Town of Benson’s sixth annual Keep Benson Beautiful clean-up drew 112 volunteers, including elected leaders and town employees. Together, they gave 336 hours of work.

The volunteers weeded tree boxes along Main Street, cleaned alleyways, picked up trash along town streets, repaired the grounds at Mitchell Nance Park and continued work at P.K. Vyas Park.

“We had such an excellent turnout,” said Town Manager Matt Zapp. “It is always so powerful to see our community in action. Benson is a wonderful place to call home. In fact, we believe that Benson is the best small town in North Carolina.”

Volunteers were treated to both breakfast and lunch, and local merchants gave away door prizes.
