Two former UNC-Chapel Hill students and activists will appear at a local theater Wednesday for the showing of a documentary about campus rape.
Annie Clark and Andrea Pino will lead a discussion Wednesday following the 7 p.m. screening of “The Hunting Ground” at the Chelsea Theater in Chapel Hill. The two are featured in the documentary, which chronicles a movement by women to change policies and practices at U.S. universities on sexual violence cases.
Clark and Pino were two of the women who filed federal complaints against UNC in 2013, charging that the university mishandled sexual assault cases and underreported crime statistics. They then helped students around the country use the Title IX anti-discrimination law to lodge their own complaints against universities.
The women appeared at the Sundance Film Festival in January for the premiere, and spoke about the issue this month on a broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
