Someone working in a wooded area in East Raleigh Wednesday morning discovered the remains of a deceased person, police reported.
The worker found the body at about 9:30 a.m. in a stand of woods near the intersection of Hedingham Boulevard and Corporation Parkway, according to police spokesman Jim Sughrue.
The remains were transported to the state medical examiner’s office. Investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the person’s gender and if the cause of death involved foul play, Sughrue reported.
