Driver seriously hurt in one-car Raleigh crash

A 35-year-old man was seriously hurt and a woman riding with him received minor injuries when a 1997 Mercedes-Benz he was driving went off North New Hope Church Road and crashed into a stone pillar and a house early Wednesday, police said.

Titus Lamon Kelly was driving the car through a left turn near Fawn Glen Drive when it hit the left curb of the road about 12:45 a.m., police said.

Kelly over-corrected to the right and ran off that side of the road, officers said.

Kelly’s passenger was Monic Jeanie Lecator, 32, officials reported.

Both were taken to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, and Kelly was listed in serious condition.

Lecator was treated and then released, the hospital said.

The accident remained under investigation Wednesday, police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said.
