Both of the motorcyclists who died in accidents earlier this week were speeding before they lost control of their bikes, according to police reports released Tuesday.
Investigators estimate Allison Lee Pulley, 52, of Cranston Road in Garner was going about 59 mph on New Bern Avenue about 6 p.m. Sunday when his 2014 Kawasaki hit a traffic island and a light pole. The posted speed limit was 35 mph. Pulley died at WakeMed Raleigh.
James Michael Miller, 25, of Stage Road in Durham was riding his 1993 Honda motorcycle west on Old Wake Forest Road about 60 mph when he lost control near Litchford Road about 3:30 a.m. Monday, police said. The posted speed limit was 45 mph.
He hit a guardrail and later died at WakeMed Raleigh. From staff reports
